Rio-Niteroi Bridge

The Rio-Niterói Bridge is technically known as a "box-girder" bridge, made of pre-stressed concrete. It receives a stunning 140,000 vehicles per day.

Completed in 1974 (only 99 years after the idea for it was first conceived), the eight-lane structure connects the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niterói across the Guanabara Bay.

The Rio-Niterói Bridge in Brazil is the second-longest bridge in all of Latin America at 8.26 miles long.
